TREATMENTS

In every person's life, there will be times when injuries, aches and pains occur. Often, doctors will prescribe pain control medication to help you 'ride it out' while the body heals, but this seldom helps the cause of the problem, and may even result in cascading injuries from that one initial problem.

At the Sydney Myofascial Release Centre we use Core Body Therapy, a complete system of bodywork that treats musculoskeletal pain with myofascial release, deep tissue therapy, stretching techniques, craniosacral therapy, and trigger point therapy. It is a grounded, scientific, structural approach to the body that also encompasses emotional and spiritual aspects.

From as little as $85 a treatment, Core Body Therapy is one of the more affordable injury therapy options available in Sydney today. Conditions successfully treated by Core Body Therapy include:

  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Lower back and pelvic pain
  • Temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ)
  • Jaw and neck dysfunction (alignment)
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Hip and knee pain
  • Poor posture
  • Repetitive strain injury
  • Sciatica

Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome

Symptoms of TMJ Syndrome include:

  • Painful clicky jaw, pain on opening and closing mouth
  • Headaches
  • Teeth grinding
  • Earache
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Lower back and hip pain
  • Tinnitus

Core Body Therapy recognises that for successful treatment and healing of TMJ pain many factors need to be addressed including nutrition, stress reduction and expert treatment of the myofascial and craniosacral systems. Depending on the severity of the condition, clients find significant benefits after only five treatments.

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle bodywork practice that employs a light touch to correct and harmonise the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system includes the bones of the head (cranium), the dura mater (the connective tissue surrounding the brain), the spinal dura (the connective tissue surrounding the spinal cord) and the sacrum. These structures house and protect the brain, spinal cord and cerebrospinal fluid. The goal of craniosacral therapy is to release and correct restrictions in the craniosacral system, to promote functioning of the central nervous system and flow of the cerebral spinal fluid.

Craniosacral therapy is very effective in the treatment of:

  • Lower back and pelvic pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches/Migraines
  • Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome
  • Teeth grinding
  • Post dental procedures
